Sweet and Frosty Melon Slush

 

This cold and frosty blend of watermelon and cantaloupe is perfect for a quick breakfast or as a sweet treat. I can also picture it as a cocktail base enjoyed on a warm evening outside with good friends.

I love to have it for breakfast on summer mornings after a good run. It is refreshing and gives me all kinds of energy!

Plus, melons are very hydrating to your body because of their high water content.

 

This summertime melon slush just makes me happy to get up in the morning. It’s so sweet and delicious. :)

Ingredients:

  • one part (basically half a blender-full) frozen watermelon chunks
  • one part cantaloupe chunks
  • approximately 1/2 cup of water (or juice from the cantaloupe)

 

 

Directions: blend until smooth and frosty.

 

 

This cold and frosty blend of watermelon and cantaloupe melon is perfect for breakfast or as a sweet treat, like a cocktail on a warm summer evening.

 

 

For this 32 oz blender, I used about 2 cups of each melon and 1/2 cup of liquid. Of course, you would adjust that amount for a large blender. If you wanted to double the recipe, you’d use 4 cups of each kind of melon and a cup of liquid.

Which, by the way, I highly recommend. You know, to keep from having to go make another one when it’s gone too soon…it just saves time. :)

As I mentioned earlier, this would make an excellent cocktail. Substitute some or all of the liquid for vodka or your alcohol of choice.
