Have you ever wanted to eat a whole batch of cookies by yourself, but that little voice in your head was screaming that your hips would surely be wearing another few pounds in a few minutes if you ate more than one or two […]
Just imagine it…sitting down for breakfast or for dessert in front of a giant bowl of cold, creamy, chocolaty goodness and it’s all good for you, guilt-free, healthy, and vegan. And it’s CHOCOLATE, people! The two main ingredients in this […]
This ice cream made all from fruit is a great way to have dessert and stick with your health goals too! The peach and strawberry flavors blend perfectly and they taste like summer!
Do you struggle with sticking to a healthy diet? Here are some tips:
You have to allow yourself to start with small changes. No one starts off being excellent. Just choose one thing that seems doable to you and do that!
Maybe you think you could start dinner every night with a green salad, and then eat normally for the rest of the meal.
Maybe you could start every morning with a green smoothie, then eat normally for the rest of the day.
Could you make one day a week meatless/vegetarian or make one meal a day be only raw fruits and vegetables? Try it a few times and see!
Here’s an idea: you could replace your nightly gigantic bowl of ice cream (who, me?) with this cold, creamy, HEALTHY strawberry peach nicecream (banana ice cream).
Whatever healthy choices you can live with for the long term, commit to it and don’t give up! You can always build on those choices later when you’re ready. I have compiled a list of things that have helped me immensely in sticking with my goals, here and here.
And now, the moment you’ve been waiting for: the recipe!
summertime strawberry peach ice cream
- 2 frozen bananas, in chunks
- 1 peach, peeled
- 4-5 strawberries
- sweetener of your choice (stevia, coconut sugar, Medjool dates, etc)
- dash of cinnamon, optional
Blend everything in a high-speed blender or a bullet blender. Sometimes my bullet blender has trouble, and I have to add some almond milk or water to thin it. Just make sure you don’t add too much, or it’ll turn into a smoothie!
If you’re having trouble blending, you could instead just let your frozen bananas thaw for about 15 minutes and cut them into smaller chunks.
I’d love to hear about the healthy choices you’re making! Comment below or email me any time.
